The Queen In Australia - Day 4

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh visit the Floriade Flower Festival on October 20, 2011 in Canberra, Australia.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are on a 10-day visit to Australia and will travel to Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne before heading to Perth for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.

Every two years, Commonwealth leaders meet at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to discuss global and Commonwealth issues, and to agree on collective policies and initiatives.

The Royal couple will undertake two “away days” one to Brisbane on Monday 24th October, and one to Melbourne on Wednesday 26th October.

Today Her Majesty wore an electric blue dress with matching hat and gloves. Her Majesty has today excelled in her dress sense yet again. Before stylist Angela Kelly, (whose official title is  Personal Assistant, Adviser and Curator to Her Majesty the Queen Jewellery, Insignias and Wardrobe) came along Her Majesty frequented a light flowery sense of dress by thankfully Angela has set to work to dress Her Majesty in bold colours that enhance and as I might say suit Her Majesty immensely. 'Royal-Chic' has yet again been set in stone today. The only criticism I have is that could we possibly find Her Majesty a different pair of black leather shoes?

He led his men through six days and nights of fighting, capturing a piece of high ground and holding it for 48 hours against a fierce Chinese counter attack and heavy artillery and mortar fire.

The Royal couple will undertake two “away days” one to Brisbane on Monday 24th October, and one to Melbourne on Wednesday 26th October.

Today Her Majesty stuck with her pastel tones opting for a lilac double-breasted coat by Karl Rehse for Karl Ludwig Couture, along with a matching hat by  Philip Somerville with broad swirls and a three string pearl necklace that I am informed is to symbolise her third day in Australia, although Her Majesty is seen frequently wearing these pearls so believe as you wish. To enhance the ensemble Her Majesty is wearing her trademark gloves in white and a lovely brooch that has red, green and blue diamonds in a gold setting to show an arrangement of flowers, this is from the royal vault.

I would like to quote Paula Joye of The Age, Life and Style, a fashion and style columnist:
"Elizabeth II is often criticised for being far too conservative and stuck in a fashion rut from the 1950's but her detractors couldn't be more wrong. Instead she's been responsible for quietly and gently re-writing the rules of protocol dressing. Julia and Quentin were wearing 'Royal Chic' yesterday - an entire style genre created by Her Majesty."

Chanel Couture - Fall 2011

On the 5th of July, Chanel featured its Fall/Winter couture collection for 2011/12 at the Grand Palais in Paris. Most unusually the show stated at 10pm keeping with the starry night time theme printed on the invite pictured below.

Chanel's feature for fall was a magnificent success as usual, with keeping with the Gabrielle Chanel's original basic idea of the Chanel suit has been retained which has kept many loyal customers with the Chanel brand.

My favouite designs have been pictured below with emphasis photograph numbers 4 and 5.

The Invitation
The Interior of The Grand Palais, The stage was set with a stylized reproduction of the monument from the Place Vendome topped by a statute of Coco Chanel.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will depart Australia on Saturday 29th October.

This is the Queen's 16th official visit to Australia.

I do like the colour of Her Majesty's dress, the light pastel tones of the blue suits her complexion completely and with the light lilac fascinator in her has it is an elegant choice.
Quentin Bryce is looking wonderful with her bold, hot pink two piece suit, these bold colours suite Quentin immensely but that hat is something else.
